Books provide a window to the world

In conjunction with Harmony Day, Stanton Library features eight selected books, one film and one book of poetry that take you across the globe from home (Australia) to India, North Korea, Nigeria, Israel, England, the United States of America, Germany, Afghanistan, China and finally to Trinidad in the Caribbean.

We believe that harmony can be achieved by knowing more about other cultures. By enjoying this selection, we hope you will better understand the richness, complexity and diversity of races, cultures and homes of the people of the world.

The selection focuses on recent years of publication. Some selections have won awards and nominations. 

This selection will focus on Adult (male & female) audience. Older young adults could enjoy it as well if they are interested.  

We at Stanton Library hope that the selection will inspire you to spread the message of peace-love-harmony, to make a difference by real actions of tolerance.
